The most interesting tidbits come from CAPCOM’s outlook for the next fiscal year, though. The Japanese company is planning to break further records with estimated sales of 37 million units, of which 30 million would take place outside of Japan. CAPCOM is expecting to sell 27 million units with catalog games and 10 million units with new games, which brings us to the next slide, where the company reveals plans to release multiple major games in the fiscal year 2023 (due to end in March 2023)....

During their latest earnings call (thanks to Video Games Chronicle for the transcription) CD Projekt Red’s Michal Nowakowski spoke further on the future of Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion. It seems one of the big goals of Phantom Liberty is to push the abilities of next-gen consoles without having to worry about last-gen restrictions (the expansion won’t be playable on Xbox One/PS4). Nowakowski also promises CDPR is going to remain committed to CP2077, with new “content” and “experiences” in addition to the upcoming expansion....

Some of the changes that are expected within the new lineup are the upgrade from 8 Core Intel Comet Lake processors to the latest 16 Core Alder Lake-HX CPUs....

DXVK 2.0 improves Direct3D gaming support within the Vulkan 1.3 driver Looking at D3D9 changes, DXVK 2.0 improves memory management, especially in 32-bit games in D3D9. DXVK 2.0 uses explicitly mapped files to allow the system to collect shadow texture copies. For the user, they can free large amounts of address space to access “several hundred megabytes” of memory access that was previously inaccessible. The developer does note that this memory management modification will not work on games that are 64-bit, D3D10, and D3D11 APIs....
