The new update introduces support for Intel XeSS upscaling technology which was officially released yesterday. Before the Director’s Cut was released, it was confirmed that it would be the first game to support Intel’s technology, although that wasn’t the case in the end, as Nixxes added XeSS support to Shadow of the Tomb Raider before 5050 Games and Kojima Productions did. Eagle-eyed fans recently took note of the LinkedIn page of Creatures Inc. programmer Jonathan Murphy. According to Murphy, he’s working been working on a pair of projects, including Detective Pikachu 2, which is “nearing release.” The LinkedIn page has since been edited, but of course, the internet never forgets. While it may seem strange that we haven’t heard anything about Detective Pikachu for so long, Nintendo does have a habit of not showing off some of their mid-size games until quite near to launch....

While the first release of DirectStorage on PC focused on enhancing the data transfer so that the API could take advantage of the much higher bandwidth of NVMe drives, the decompression of assets was still handled by the CPU, becoming a bottleneck in the process. GPU decompression, on the other hand, can be much faster. In the comparison shown by Microsoft, the scene loads nearly three times faster, and the CPU is almost entirely freed up to handle other tasks if needed....
As part of their rebranding, Don’t Nod released a teaser showing their new logo in various styles, which most have taken to be hints about the games they’re working on. Interestingly, while Don’t Nod claims to have six games in the works, there are actually seven teaser logos. Is the seventh something Don’t Nod is working on with another publisher? Today, Bethesda announced that the fourth entry in their popular post-apocalyptic role-playing game series will launch on current-generation consoles sometime in 2023. All owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be able to download the new version as a free upgrade.
