AMD Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE APU Faster Than Alder Lake Pentium But Slower Than Core i3 In Leaked Benchmark

The Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE is an entry-level APU that is designed for the OEM market. It’s not intended for DIY sales though we have seen it listed by Chinese 3rd party resellers. Starting with the specs, the AMD Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE is based on the Zen 2 core architecture and features 4 cores / 4 threads. It has a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and boosts up to 3.7 GHz. The chip packs 4 MB of L2 cache and has an operating TDP of 35W since it’s a ‘GE’ part. A standard ‘G’ SKU may also launch with a TDP of 50-65W. As you can tell from the specifications, it’s a very standard low-end APU designed for budget PCs in the office and business segment. As for its performance, the AMD Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE scores 1098 points in single-core and 3728 points in the multi-core tests. For comparison, the Alder Lake Pentium G7400 scores 1466 points in single-core and 3234 points in multi-core tests. Intel’s Alder Lake wins in single-core tests but loses in multi-core tests but it’s also priced much lower at around $65 US while the Athlon Gold PRO has a listed seller price of over $100 US. So in terms of pricing at least, it should be competing against the Core i3-12100F which offers much higher performance at over 1700 single-core and over 6500 multi-core points. The Athlon Gold Pro 4150GE will rock integrated Vega graphics but only 3 Compute Units running at a lower 1.1-1.2 GHz clock. This means that the iGPU performance between the Alder Lake Iris Xe iGPU and Vega would be very similar. Maybe OEM system prices would be much better but if you’re expecting to get this chip around $50 US in the DIY channel, then that doesn’t seem to be the case. News Source: Benchleaks
