Following the departure of DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson and other top talent, EA installed Rebecka Coutaz, formerly of Ubisoft Annecy (Steep, Riders Republic) as new GM. In a new interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Coutaz confirms she’s formed a new leadership team and is focused on reorienting DICE as a live-service-focused studio. Unfortunately, all things come at a cost, and the transition to essentially a high-dollar live-service support studio means DICE now has “no time” to spend on original titles like Mirror’s Edge… Battlefield 2042 is available now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
