Samsung Introduced a Notch to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Before Apple Brought It to the iPad Lineup

Surprisingly, Apple introduced a notch to its iPhone range but left out its iPad family. Samsung believes this inclusion is necessary, and sure enough, it has brought it to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. In terms of display size, the company has gone all-out, as the slate features a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 2960 x 1848 resolution, with a refresh rate support of up to 120Hz. It measures 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm and weighs 726 grams for the Wi-Fi-only model (728 grams for the 5G version). The Korean giant also states that all three Galaxy Tab S8 models feature a 4nm 64-bit octa-core processor but did not specify which exact one. We did a little digging around and found that all three slates and fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is strange to see that none of them feature the Exynos 2200, but it could be a yield issue that Samsung is facing, so that could be why it went with Qualcomm’s SoC. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra also offers up to a whopping 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage, transforming the tablet into a proper notebook. All models, including this one, have a microSD card slot. Coming to the cameras, the gargantuan-sized slate has a 12MP + 12MP front camera configuration, with the secondary sensor being an ultrawide unit, giving users more choice if they want to show more of their background or not. At the back, there is a 13MP + 6MP configuration, with the 6MP camera being an ultrawide variant. The new tablet also has one of the biggest batteries for its product type, getting an 11,200mAh capacity that supports 45W charging. For security, Samsung has included a fingerprint on display, making it easier to enter the home screen, though, for a device of this size, we would have much preferred some form of facial recognition. If you wish to purchase accessories down the road to optimize your experience, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is compatible with Samsung’s S Pen, which is included in the packaging, along with Book Cover Keyboard, Book Cover, Protective Standing Cover; these three have to purchased separately.
